Introduction

Being one of triplets is never easy. Its even worse when your father is a Demi-God and by that right you are too. Oh am I being a little confusing? Let me start over.

My name is Kira Love. Yes, my last name is actually Love. It's pretty cool, or so that's what I've always thought. I live in the island paradise of Isla Paradiso. I've lived here my whole life and I have to say, I love it here. I'm a Demi-God, sort of since my father is one. I guess I'm a bit less of a god than he is.

This handsome man here is my father, Atlas. He's a Demi-God. That means he's the child of a human and a God. Of course, the full Gods are so busy that they delegate the ruling of small areas to Demi-Gods. My father is the one who watches over the seas of Isla Paradiso. He makes sure that there are no bad storms, that sailors don't get lost at sea and that the playful Kraken doesn't 'hug' too many ships. He's alot older than he looks. He's been here on this island since it was founded!

This beautiful woman here is my older sister Kaejii. She prefers to be called Kae because most people can't pronounce her name correctly. She loves to exercise and practice Sim Fu. She's a master at it and she's so young yet! She looks more like our father than our mother.

And this is my younger sister Kyna. She's very artistic and enjoys making paintings of family members and the few friends we have. She also enjoys making paintings of those who come to give offerings to our father. She looks more like mother than father. She's a kind-hearted girl and I'm closer to her than Kae but we're all very close to each other. We're triplets, we have a bond.

Oh I forgot to tell you one little detail about the three of us - well four if you count daddy.

We're mermaids.

Daddy's father is the God of the Sea, so it makes sense that we would be right? Grandpa has other children like us, other mermaids but daddy is one of the oldest of his Demi-God children. As for me and my two sisters, we enjoy being what we are. We love to swim together and chat about different things like coral that will look good in our hair or if we should adopt a pet shark.

Daddy won't let us have one though. Poo.

Anyway, I bet you're thinking that me and my sister's life must sound really great right? It must sound perfect to most people, but there is one little detail that I'm leaving out and thats the rule that Grandpa has. It's not a very fair rule, not to poor Daddy at least.

If Daddy marries anyone who isn't a demi-god, he forfeits his goddom and will become a human.

Now I'm betting your wondering about our mother.

Daddy isn't married to her. They had us out of wedlock. Daddy raised us with mother visiting when she could.See...Mother isn't just anyone. She's not another Demi-God, but she isn't exactly human either.

Our daddy fell in love with a vampire. Luckily the three of us were born with more of daddy in us, else we wouldn't have been able to live with him. Grandpa wouldn't have let it happen. But our dad, he loves mom, more than anything. Whenever she can, she comes over and they just stare into each other's eyes.

That's why he decided that he's going to give up being a god and join the mortals. Mom will bite him after he's human and he'll become a vampire like her. They can be happy together then. That leaves the islands though. Daddy doesn't want just any old Demi-God to take over the island so, he asked Grandpa if me or one of my sisters could take it over. Grandpa agreed, but he said that daddy has to choose.

Normally it would go to the oldest, but since we're triplets, daddy doesn't think thats fair. He told us we each had to undertake a task, something to prove to him that we're the right choice to take over. Kae has her physical prowess and Kyna has her artistic skills. What do I have?

I don't know what I have yet. So that was what started it.

A few nights after daddy's announcement I sat on the couch with him. He was staring off into the distance. I could tell he was thinking about mother and their life together after he had chosen one of us to take over for him.

"Daddy, I'm moving out"

"Wh-what?" He was clearly startled out of thought. "What do you mean you're moving out Kira?"

"I'm moving out, proving that I can take care of myself. Proving that I don't need anyone else but myself. I'll figure out something else, something better, to impress you with later. For now, that's my plan."

"Neither of your sisters are moving out" A frown crossed his face.

I lifted my hands and dropped them into my lap, sighing loudly. "I don't want to leave daddy, but this is the only thing I can think of, the only thing I can do to prove to you that I'm the right choice. It's not a lot but its a start"

"If this is what you want, I won't stop you" He stood and pulled me into a hug.

"Thank you daddy! I won't disappoint you!"

"I'll give you whatever money you need and you get yourself out of here. Start a life, make me proud"

A few days later, into the night, I arrived at this beautiful house. It promised several bedrooms, though it was on quite the small lot. I was excited to explore so even though it was late, I poked around through the house. I was disappointed to only find a nursery and two other bedrooms. I thought it was supposed to have four or five bedrooms? How was my family supposed to visit?

Well I got to bed and I vowed in the morning I would decide what I was going to do.

The next morning, after showering and dressing, I made my way downstairs to the computer. I flipped it open and began to browse the web. I had no idea what I was searching for, just something...interesting. Anything interesting...something that would catch my father's eye and show him I was the right choice.

I searched for hours, not moving from my chair. I read seemingly random articles and webpages. Finally, my search brought me to a name; Dawn Turner.

I read through her blog, which told the story of how she had one hundred children. She was only human and she had one hundred children. Amazing. Father always talked about how he wished to have many grandchildren to spread our family's name and wasn't one hundred plenty of grandchildren?

I closed my computer, a determined look on my face. I think I just found how I was going to win daddy's favor.

Hey everyone, thanks for reading my introduction and I hope you liked it. Now for some credits;

Dawn Tuner - is an actual 100 Baby mother! You can read her blog here. It was one of the first ones I read and I loved it. I'd suggest her story to anyone.

The House - I didn't build it. It's the Virtuous Villa from Parsimonious. You can download it here. If your wondering why I didn't build my own house, I'm just not good at it. So I probably won't build anything more than tiny addons the whole story, unless I get suddenly awesome at building.

I hope you enjoyed the intro and I hope to see you around for the birth of the first baby!
